Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Akash Traders (Sole proprietorship), [office address — add it in Owner → Settings → Company details] ("Kamkaji", "we") collects and uses personal data on kamkaji.in, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), the rules made under it and the Information Technology Act, 2000. Please read it with our Terms of Service.
1. Who is responsible for your data
- Seller accounts (shop owners): Kamkaji decides how this data is used — we are the Data Fiduciary.
- Customers of a store: when you order from or create an account at a store, your details are collected for, and shared with, that Seller so they can process your order. The Seller uses them for your order; Kamkaji stores and processes them on the Seller's behalf to run the store, and for security, legal compliance and support.
2. What we collect
- Sellers: name, email, mobile/WhatsApp number, password (stored only in encrypted form), store name, address and details, products and photos, business details you choose to add (legal name, GSTIN, FSSAI), plan payments (UPI transaction ID, amount, date).
- Customers: name, mobile number, delivery address, optional email and password, orders and enquiries, favourite products.
- Technical: IP address and time of log-in attempts (to stop password guessing), error logs, and the cookies described below.
We do not collect card numbers, bank passwords or UPI PINs — product payments happen directly between customer and Seller. We do not sell personal data and do not show third-party advertising.
3. Why we use it
- To create and run accounts and stores, and to send orders and enquiries to the Seller on WhatsApp.
- To show customers their orders, estimates and favourites, and Sellers their orders, customers and reports.
- To verify email addresses and reset passwords (one-time codes by email).
- To activate paid plans and keep payment records.
- To keep the website secure, prevent fraud and abuse, fix errors and back up data.
- To comply with the law, court orders and lawful requests from government agencies, and to handle complaints.
We process data on the basis of your consent (which you give when you sign up or place an order) and, where the DPDP Act allows, for legitimate uses such as complying with law and responding to emergencies.
4. Who we share it with
- The Seller you order from — your name, phone, address, note and order details (this is how your order reaches them).
- Service providers that help us run the website — web hosting and email delivery — bound to protect the data and use it only for our services.
- Authorities — when required by law, a court order or a lawful request.
Data is stored on servers of our hosting provider. If any data is processed outside India, it will be only as permitted under the DPDP Act.
5. Cookies and browser storage
We use only cookies needed for the website to work: a log-in session cookie, a "stay logged in" cookie (until you log out), and your language choice (English/Hindi). Your cart and guest favourites are kept in your own browser. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
6. How long we keep it
- Account data: while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data, except what we must keep by law.
- Order records: Sellers may need them for accounting and tax laws; customer details in old orders are kept with the Seller's records.
- Security logs and processing records: at least one year, as required by the DPDP Rules, then deleted.
- Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.
7. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can: get a summary of your personal data and how it is used; correct, complete or update it; ask us to erase it (customers can delete their account from My account → My details; Sellers from Settings); withdraw consent (this does not affect what was done before); nominate someone to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity; and raise a grievance with us. Write to our Grievance Officer (below) or use the complaint form and choose "My data / privacy". We respond within 30 days, and in any case within the time set by law. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
8. Children
The website is not meant for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect children's data without verifiable consent of a parent or guardian, and we do not track or target advertising at children.
9. Security
We use reasonable security safeguards: HTTPS, encrypted passwords, limits on log-in attempts, protection against cross-site attacks, restricted access to data and regular backups. If a personal data breach happens, we will inform affected users and the Data Protection Board as required by law.
